Structural workshop
(Lateral Line)

Synopsis

This workshop will compliment the Comprehensive course work done in the final semester of MTCM’s diploma program and will be open to all therapists who have completed that course. Our journey through the body continues with a detailed overview of the lateral aspect of our structure and the side lying techniques that can most effectively access and treat these critical tissues. Common imbalances will be reviewed and practical, effective structural techniques designed to bring balance to the area will be explored.

This workshop is approved for 13.5 credit hours.

Date: April 11 - 13, 2008

Time: Fri. 6 - 9, Sat. 9 - 4:30, Sun. 10 - 1

Cost: $325.00 per person or $295.00 (each) if signing up with a partner.

Segment Objectives:

Friday (6 - 9)


* Introductions and handout anatomy & techniques manual.
* Review objectives of 1st course and the relationship of the SFL to the SBL.
* Review objectives of this workshop and the territory we will be covering.
* Discuss in detail the LL anatomy and common imbalances we find there.

Saturday (9 - 12)


* Review of LL and imbalances (lower body) with demo body.
* Practical demo of lower leg techniques related to specific imbalances.
* First group works w/ guidance on lower body techniques for one hour.
* Second group works w/ guidance for one hour.

LUNCH

Saturday (1 - 4)


* Review of LL and imbalances (upper body) with demo body.
* Practical demo of upper body techniques related to specific imbalances.
* First group works w/ guidance for one hour.
* Second group works w/ guidance for one hour.

Overview (4 - 4:30)


* Review days objectives and discuss focus for final day.

Sunday (9 - 1)


* Review of LL and imbalances (the neck) with demo body.
* Practical demo of neck techniques related to specific imbalances.
* Review and practical demo of End Work.
* First group works for 90 minutes (including End Work)
* Second group works for 90 minutes (including End Work)

Dear Friend:

On Behalf of the Massage Therapy College of Manitoba, we would like to welcome you to our Continuing Education Program.

The Massage Therapy College of Manitoba is committed to providing learning experiences, which will enhance and expand the skills, knowledge and confidence of massage therapists, bodyworkers and other health care professionals.

Our goal is to offer unique, affordable workshops and seminars in the art and science of remedial massage therapy and related structural body work. Registration for our sessions, unless otherwise stated, will be on a first come first serve bases. Also, in order to enhance your learning experience, class sizes wil be limited to ensure appropriate individual attention.

At the Massage Therapy College of Manitoba we feel the caliber of our facilitators and the quality and depth of our continuing education courses, contribute emmensly to the unique character of our College.

Continuing Education Registration Policies

As mentioned, registration is limited in our continuing education courses. While we will make every effort to accommodate you, to avoid any disappointment, please register as early as possible to ensure your spot.

Full payment is required at the time of registration for each of the continuing education courses.

A $10.00 fee will be charged on all NSF cheques.

To qualify for early bird discounts, if applicable, registrations must be postmarked by the specified early bird deadline date outlined in each individual course. All registrations postmarked after this date will fall under the regular rate.

An individual confirmation of registration will be sent following receipt of payment in full by MTCM.

MTCM reserves the right to cancel a course if the minimum number of registrations has not been received by the registration deadline. In this event, a 100% refund will be issued.

Cancellation Policy:

  • If the cancellation occurs 30 days prior to the commencement date of the course, a full refund will be processed.

  • If the cancellation occurs up to 8 days prior to the commencement date of the course, the cancellation fee will be $75.00 or 35% of the course cost, whichever is less.

  • No refunds will be issued within 7 days of the commencement date of the course.

  • It is the responsibility of each registrant to notify the Continuing Education Department of any changes to personal information, i.e: name, address, telephone number, email, so that up to date records can be maintained. The college will not be responsible for undeliverable mail.

To register, complete the REGISTRATION FORM, print and mail it to MTCM. By mail, you can pay with cheque or money order. Telephone registrations will be held for a period of 24 hours until suitable payment arrangements can be made in person at the College. If you wish to pay cash, please register at the school prior to the registration deadline.
